The after-party your venue will actually allow

Wireless headphones, up to three live channels and a room that looks electric while staying quiet outside the walls. It is the answer to hotel noise limits, historic venue curfews and neighbors who go to bed at ten.

Three simultaneous channels

Guests switch between throwbacks, current hits and a genre channel, and the color of their headset shows what they are dancing to.

Noise-ordinance friendly

Keep dancing past curfew at venues with strict sound limits, outdoor decibel caps or neighbors close by.

Full-service rental

Delivery, sanitizing, distribution table, on-site attendant and collection at the end of the night.

A format we run all over the DMV

Epic Events

Silent disco is one of the event types we book most often alongside mitzvahs, corporate events, private parties and weddings. Guests wear wireless headphones that switch between channels, so multiple sets can run at once in the same room and the party keeps going past a venue's sound curfew.

It has been a favorite at mitzvah after parties, including a bar mitzvah we ran with DJ, MC and silent disco at Pinstripes in Bethesda, and it works just as well for corporate receptions where conversation and dancing have to share a space.

  • Wireless headphones with multiple live channels
  • Runs inside venue noise limits and late night curfews
  • Pairs with a DJ and MC, or with a photo booth in the same room
  • Great for after parties, rooftops and tented events

Where it solves a real problem

Solender Events

A hard sound curfew tends to land right when the dance floor is at its best. Many of the DMV's most beautiful event spaces, from historic DC rowhouses to Old Town Alexandria and Georgetown properties, operate under strict noise ordinances or lease conditions because residences are close by. Rooftops carry sound much further than enclosed rooms, and Baltimore and DC rooftop venues often face curfews as early as 10 or 10:30pm.

Because the music exists only inside each guest's headphones, the room stays essentially silent from the outside. A neighbor standing outside at 11pm hears talking and laughing, not a bassline. The channels solve a second problem too: grandparents who want Motown and a college crowd that wants current hits can dance on the same floor at the same time.

  • Historic and residential-adjacent venues with noise limits
  • Rooftops and outdoor urban spaces with early curfews
  • Mixed-generation crowds who want different music
  • Quiet cocktail hours or after parties in a shared building

Getting every guest into the headphones

Solender Events

The biggest factor in whether a silent disco lands is how guests are introduced to it. A guest who walks up to a table of headphones with no explanation often skips it. A short, energetic explanation from the DJ or MC right before the segment starts, covering how the channels work and what each color means, takes less than a minute and changes participation dramatically.

Big shared moments need a plan as well. For a grand entrance, an anniversary dance or the last song, the DJ brings everyone onto the same channel, so the room is not split across three songs. Toasts and announcements either go out on all channels at once or through a low-volume speaker for a moment.

  • Signage at the headphone station explaining the channel colors
  • An attendant at the station for at least the first thirty minutes
  • Every channel merged for group moments and announcements
  • Chargers, backup units and sanitizing included

Frequently asked

How many headphones do we need?
Plan on about seventy percent of your guest count for a late-night set, or one hundred percent if the silent disco is the main event.
Can we run it after a normal reception?
That is the most popular use. The main system shuts down at curfew and the headphones take over.
Do you provide live DJs for each channel?
Yes, or we can preload curated channels if you prefer a smaller footprint.
How does a silent disco work?
Instead of playing through speakers, the DJ's audio is sent wirelessly to headphones worn by each guest. Each set has its own volume control and a channel switch, so guests choose between two or three feeds playing at the same time, and the LED ear cups change color to show which channel they are on.

Will the neighbors or the venue hear it?
Not the music. The sound exists only inside each guest's headphones, so from outside the room you hear people talking and laughing, not a bassline. That is why it works for venues with decibel limits, curfews or residences next door.

Which venues are a good fit?
Historic and residential-adjacent venues with noise limits, such as DC rowhouse venues and properties in Old Town Alexandria and Georgetown, and Baltimore and DC rooftops, which often face curfews as early as 10 or 10:30pm. It also suits shared buildings where one part of an event has to stay quiet.

Can different generations dance at the same time?
Yes, that is what the channels are for. One channel can play Motown for the grandparents while another plays current hits for the college crowd, on the same floor at the same time, and the headset colors keep the room looking like one crowd.
Read the silent disco guide
Should the silent disco run all night or just at the end?
It works best either as the whole dance floor at a curfew-restricted venue, or as a late-night segment after the traditional reception ends. Dropped into the middle of a normal reception without warning, the sudden quiet can feel more disorienting than fun.

How do toasts and speeches work?
Speeches, toasts and ceremony audio still need normal sound for anyone not wearing headphones. Most events use both: regular sound for the formal parts of the evening, then headphones for the dancing once the curfew or noise concern starts. Announcements during the silent disco go out on every channel at once.

What about the last dance or a grand entrance?
For big shared moments the DJ brings every guest onto the same channel, with a quick announcement or a visual cue, so a bouquet toss or the last dance does not split the room across three different songs.
Read the silent disco guide
How do you keep guests from skipping the headphones?
A short explanation from the DJ or MC right before the segment starts, signage at the headphone station explaining the channel colors, and an attendant at the station for at least the first thirty minutes. Each one makes a measurable difference in how many guests join in.
Read the silent disco guide
Are the headphones clean and charged?
Every rental includes sanitizing between events, plus chargers and backup units, so a set that runs low is swapped instead of dying mid-song.
Does it work for kids?
It has been a favorite at mitzvah after parties. With a lot of very young children, or guests who have not used wireless headphones before, plan for more hands-on help at the station.
See mitzvah DJs
Is it better than just turning the music down?
Turning the system down or aiming the speakers tighter buys a partial fix but costs energy on the dance floor, and moving the dancing earlier means rebuilding the whole schedule. Silent disco is the only option that keeps full volume and full energy without changing what leaves the room.
